有些題目壞得很，例如問 Date of Birth，你聽到了 31 March, 1972，於是就直接寫進了答案卡。殊不知題目的字數要求是Write ONE WORD AND/OR ANUMBER for each answer. 最多可以寫「一個單字 + —個數字」，因此1972這個年份數字就必須被捨棄！
例如一個人叫 Anu Bhatt，當念到Bhatt的時候你要是記住了/bait/的發音，稍候就不會糾結到底是b-h-a-double t 或是b-h-a-w-t了 這兩者，顯然按前者拼寫，才是和發音一致的。
陷阱 04. 數字聽寫
雅思聽力 裡數字大致可以分為以下幾類：
1. 長數字
涉及到 billion / million / thousand 等。在聽到這種數字的時候，首先一定要先保持冷靜，然後按照英文的數位表達習慣，三位數三位數的寫下來就可以了。
比如 1,234,567,000，這個數字讀出來就比較長。夥伴們在聽到 1 billion 之後不要急於補零，直接寫成 1b；接著聽到two hundred and thirty four million，再接著寫 234m，隨後聽到five hundred and sixty seven thousand，接著寫 567t，這樣子最後寫的就是 1b、234m、567t 最後十分鐘騰答案的時候再把英文字母去掉，根據 t 後面有 3 個零的原則來補零，就可以寫出 1234567000 這個數字了。這樣的做法就不會造成急於補零錯位的現象。
再比如說 234,056,072，這個數字在聽的時候就是 two hundred and thirty-four million，就直接寫 234m，接著聽到 fifty-six thousand，由於我們是把各部分分成三位元數，所以這裡要寫成 056t, 而不能夠只寫成56t，再接著又聽到seventy-two，就寫成072，最後發現自己寫出來的數字就是234m056t072，最後十分鐘騰答案的時候就可以直接把字母去掉，就是正確的數位了。
這樣三位數的來寫，既不會造成錯位、也不會出現到處瞎填零，更加不會出現數字太長記不下來的情況了。
2. 分數
讀分數的時候，分子用基數詞如 one、two，分母用序數詞，如 first, second，分數線不讀，分子大於 1 時分母加s，例如 1/3 讀成one third；3/4 讀成 three fourths 或 three quarters。quarter 是 1/4 的意思，在口語中很常被使用到。
3. 小數
小數點讀 point。零點幾中的零可以省略直接讀 point，如 0.46 = point four six
4. 百分比%，讀作percent
5. 關於時間的寫法
很多同學在聽時間時，花了太多的時間思考，結果影響到後面的題目，其實時間可以用一種很簡單的方法來寫。
比如在聽到 thirteen past five 的時候就可以寫成 13p5；聽到 thirteen to four 的時候，就可以寫成13t4，最後的十分鐘再去把他們直接換算成 5：13、 3：47，這樣就不會影響到下面的做題速度。
另外有一些關於時間的單字，要求同學們一定要會聽寫，並確保拼法正確。

特別是表示兩週的 fortnight 這個字，是雅思考試的高頻單字，最好是能夠記住拼寫，如果考試的時候真的想不出來也可以用 two weeks 和 ▶14 days 來代替。
另外有兩類數字表達，希夥伴們一定加以重視，一個是 劍7 TEST 4 SECTION1日本女孩租房子需要填護照號碼，護照號碼是由字母和數位組成的，同學們在聽的時候一定要注意，不要只寫數字忘記了字母。
另外在雅思聽力中的1500、2300，等等後面有兩個零的四位數都是直接讀成…hundred, 如fifteen hundred、twenty-three hundred, 而不是one thousand and five hundred、two thousand and three hundred. 希望同學們引起注意。
在填完數字時，也要注意是否跟常識符合，比如劍4 TEST 2 SECTION 3裡面關於學生們討論作業的題目，有個題目是問number of the words of the essay, 同學們聽到的是fifteen hundred，但是hundred 說的比較的清楚，有同學就直接寫了15，其實寫完了就應該想想，作業要寫一篇論文，怎麼可能只要求15個字？所以在作答的時候，一定要注意到這些細節問題喔！
